These Terms of Service apply to the Q-Tips website and all courses, content, and services offered through it. By accessing this website, creating an account, purchasing a course, or using any course materials, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you should not use the website or purchase any courses.
1. About Us
Q-Tips provides online educational and training content, including self-paced GIS and QGIS-related courses and related materials.
2. Course Purchases and Access
When you purchase a course from Q-Tips, you are purchasing access to that course through the Q-Tips website or learning platform.
Courses are self-paced unless otherwise stated on the relevant course page. This means there is no fixed start or end date for completion, and you may complete the course in your own time.
Access to a purchased course will be granted after successful payment has been received.
3. Availability of Course Access
Q-Tips aims to keep purchased courses available on an ongoing basis. However, access to courses depends on the continued operation of the Q-Tips website, hosting, software, learning platform, payment systems, and business.
Q-Tips does not guarantee that any course will remain available indefinitely or for the lifetime of the purchaser. If Q-Tips ceases trading, closes the website, discontinues a course, or is unable to continue providing access for technical, commercial, legal, or other reasons, course access may end.
Q-Tips reserves the right to modify, replace, suspend, or discontinue any course or part of any course at any time.
4. Prices and Payment
All prices are displayed on the website at the time of purchase and may be changed at any time before purchase.
Payment must be made in full at checkout through the payment methods made available on the website. Access to paid course content will only be provided once payment has been successfully processed.
Any bank charges, card fees, currency conversion costs, or similar charges imposed by your payment provider are your responsibility.
5. Refunds
Due to the digital nature of the courses and the fact that access to paid course content is granted immediately after purchase, course purchases are generally non-refundable. However, Q-Tips may, at its sole discretion, consider refunds in limited circumstances, including duplicate payment, billing error, unresolved technical failure preventing access to the course, or where required by applicable law.
Any request for a refund in the limited circumstances described above must be submitted in writing to accounts@q-tips.co.za with the purchaser’s name, order number, and a brief description of the issue. Q-Tips will review the request and respond within a reasonable time.
6. Personal Use Only
Course access is provided to the individual purchaser only, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Your purchase gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the course materials for your own personal learning purposes only. You may not transfer your access to another person.
7. Intellectual Property
All course materials, including videos, text, graphics, downloads, layouts, branding, logos, and other content made available through Q-Tips, remain the intellectual property of Q-Tips or its licensors.
You may not copy, reproduce, share, distribute, publish, sell, sublicense, upload, record, modify, or otherwise use any course content except for your own personal learning, unless Q-Tips has given prior written permission.
You may not share your login details or make course content available to any third party.
8. Account Security
If you create an account on the website, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity that takes place under your account.
Q-Tips reserves the right to suspend or terminate access where there is reason to believe that login details have been shared, course content has been misused, or these Terms have been breached.
9. Course Content and Updates
Q-Tips may update, amend, remove, replace, or improve course content at any time.
Courses may refer to specific software versions, workflows, interfaces, plugins, tools, or technical processes that may change over time. Q-Tips does not guarantee that course content will always reflect the latest version of any software or third-party platform.
10. Technical Requirements
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have suitable hardware, software, internet access, and any required third-party software needed to access and complete the course.
Q-Tips is not responsible if you are unable to access a course because your device, internet connection, software, browser, or system does not meet the necessary requirements.
11. Website Availability
Q-Tips will make reasonable efforts to keep the website and courses available, but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
Access may be affected by maintenance, updates, server issues, software problems, internet outages, third-party service failures, force majeure events, or other causes beyond Q-Tips’ reasonable control.
12. Educational Purpose and Disclaimer
Q-Tips courses are provided for educational and informational purposes only.
Although care is taken in preparing the course content, Q-Tips does not guarantee that all content will always be complete, accurate, current, or free from errors. Users remain responsible for how they apply any information, techniques, workflows, or guidance provided in the courses.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Q-Tips will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss or damage arising from the use of the website, the courses, or any related materials.
Q-Tips’ total liability in relation to any claim arising from a course purchase or use of the website will not exceed the amount paid by the user for the relevant course.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
14. Changes to These Terms
Q-Tips may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any updated version will be posted on the website and will take effect from the date of publication.
By continuing to use the website or access courses after changes have been published, you agree to the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of South Africa.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or from use of the website or courses will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
